afc is embarking on a unique project to bring together performing artists from the world of music, stage and screen to perform personalised concerts and individual performances for people who have been diagnosed with terminal illness.
Through this initiative, people will have the opportunity to hear the music they love performed for them by world-class performing artists and, where possible, by artists of their own request.
These concerts will take place at patients' bedsides, for them and them only; in communal spaces in the hospice or nursing home; outside in the grounds of the hospice or nursing home and at venues elsewhere in the community.
Wherever the concerts take place, the music performed will have been chosen by the people for whom the concerts are being given.
Family, friends and members of the local community will be invited to join the audience and share the music loved by those who may not have much longer to live among them.
It is hoped that through these concerts people will have the opportunity to experience something very special in their lives: the music they love, performed especially for them.
